Oh Baby!

Oh Baby!

Chiropractic Beaver Dam WI Oh Baby

Babies are such a blessing! And such a responsibility. Every decision we make for them plays an important part of shaping their future. And as parents (or grandparents) we want only the best. But what is the best?

One of the decisions we will have to make is about the healthcare our child will receive, and one of the choices receiving more and more recognition is quality chiropractic care in Beaver Dam and Watertown. You might think that babies haven't had a chance to have a spinal injury or misalignment, and they don’t have back or neck pain, but you might be wrong.

One of the most traumatic things a human body experiences is birth. Don’t get me wrong, it is also beautiful and miraculous, but the stress put on that little body is intense. While a baby’s body is designed for the birth process, it doesn’t mean that misalignments in the joints don't happen then. Think about all the pushing, pulling, and twisting involved during labor and delivery, and it’s pretty easy to imagine.

Babies don't tell you what hurts, but they express it in many different ways. Some are constipated, and some have diarrhea. Some have reflux and spit up at every feeding. Some cry constantly, and some DO NOT SLEEP, and that affects the whole family. Some have ear infections, torticollis, and some just feel “tight”. Whatever the symptoms, the easiest thing to ask is, “Can chiropractic help this?”

We often talk about the importance of spinal alignment in adults, and the same is true in infants. Messages from the brain travel through the spinal column and to the rest of the organs and muscles of the body. In a developing baby, these are the first messages post birth and will help shape their future.

While the basis of the chiropractic adjustment is the same as adults, the technique is different. Even at our office, where all our adjustments are low force, an infant adjustment is even lower. But it only takes a tiny bit of pressure applied in a very specific area to make a correction, but the results are often seen very quickly.

Chiropractic care nurtures holistic well-being, fostering that harmonious balance between body, mind, and spirit. By enhancing the nervous system function, it supports cognitive development, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning. Moreover, by addressing spinal misalignments early on, chiropractic care can help prevent the emergence of musculoskeletal issues in later stages in life. We believe this so completely, that we offer care for infants up to a year old at no cost, to give infants the best start possible. It is much easier to raise healthy children than to fix sick adults.

In a world brimming with choices, the decision to embrace chiropractic care for infants emerges as a beacon of hope, lighting the path toward a brighter, healthier future. It is a testament to the profound potential in the touch of a healing hand, allowing the power inside the body to heal itself. So let's embrace this journey together, and unlock the boundless possibilities that lie within each precious baby.

At our Wellness Class we will cover the challenges parents can face with their newborns and how chiropractic care can help. I will also be talking about nutrition, and how mom’s diet can and does affect nursing babies.

As always, I will be available to answer questions so bring your questions and get ready to learn! Please join us at our Beaver Dam location for this FREE class on Tuesday, June 18, at 5:30pm.
